National Manager Business Development

To drive continued business growth the organization is looking to add a highly motivated National Business Development Manager to their Team. Scope of Responsibilities: • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to grow the company’s customs brokerage and freight forwarding services across Canada. • Identify, pursue, and secure new commercial clients and partnerships within the transportation, logistics, and import/export sectors. • Cultivate and maintain long-term relationships with key accounts, acting as the trusted advisor and primary point of contact. • Collaborate closely with operations, brokerage, and compliance teams to tailor service offerings and solutions that meet client needs. • Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and service agreements to maximize revenue and profitability. • Drive sales pipeline management, forecasting, and reporting to senior leadership. • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to increase brand presence and market share. • Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to identify new market opportunities. • Support marketing initiatives with marketplace insights and contribute to development of promotional materials. Skills, Qualifications, and Education • Minimum 5+ years experience in business development within customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or related logistics sectors. • Strong knowledge of Canadian customs regulations, import/export compliance, and supply chain processes. • Demonstrated success in new business acquisition, client relationship management, and sales target achievement. • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. • Ability to develop strategic sales plans and manage complex sales cycles. • Proficiency in CRM systems, sales analytics, and pipeline management tools. • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred. • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a customer-focused mindset. • Capacity to work cross-functionally collaborating with operational and management teams. • Professional certifications related to customs brokerage or logistics (e.g., Certified Customs Specialist) considered an asset.
