President - International Forwarding

Our client is seeking a proven President, International Forwarding to lead a growing international freight forwarding business unit within a larger operating group. This is a rare opportunity for a senior logistics executive to take full leadership responsibility for a business that has already established strong momentum and is now positioned for its next phase of scale, diversification, and profitability. The ideal candidate is a forward-thinking business leader with a minimum 15 years of experience in international forwarding, combining commercial leadership, operational excellence, and strong P&L accountability. This role is best suited to someone who is ready to step into a highly visible mandate, shape strategy, build teams, and drive growth in an entrepreneurial environment. Scope of Responsibilities: The President will assume overall responsibility for the performance, direction, and growth of the international forwarding business. The mandate includes leading commercial strategy, operational execution, customer development, margin management, and talent leadership across air, ocean, customs, and integrated logistics services. This is a hands-on executive role for a leader who can operate at both the strategic and tactical levels. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership to advance business objectives while maintaining a strong focus on service quality, responsiveness, and disciplined execution. Key Responsibilities: • Lead the overall strategy and execution for the international forwarding division • Drive revenue growth, customer retention, and market expansion across key trade lanes • Own the P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, margin improvement, and performance management • Oversee operational excellence across air freight, ocean freight, customs coordination, and related services • Build, lead, and coach a high-performing team in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment • Develop and strengthen relationships with customers, carriers, vendors, and strategic partners • Identify and pursue new business opportunities and service enhancements • Partner with senior leadership on long-range planning, organizational capability, and growth priorities Qualifications And Experience: • 15+ years of progressive experience in freight forwarding or global logistics leadership • Demonstrated success leading both commercial and operational functions • Strong P&L ownership with a record of improving revenue, margin, and business performance • Deep knowledge of air freight, ocean freight, customs, and international logistics processes • Proven ability to build and lead high-performing teams • Experience in a growth-oriented, entrepreneurial, or privately held business environment • Strong customer-facing leadership background with a track record of winning and retaining business • University degree or equivalent experience; professional logistics credentials an asset Skills And Attributes: • Entrepreneurial mindset with a bias for action • Strong commercial instinct and business development capability • Strategic thinker who can convert vision into measurable results • Excellent leadership, coaching, and team-building skills • Highly accountable, disciplined, and performance-driven • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-management abilities • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment • Credibility, presence, and sound judgment at the executive level Opportunity Profile: This opportunity is well suited to a senior leader who is ready for a meaningful next step and wants to have real influence in a growing business.
