The Vice President, Information Technology and Client Integration (VP IT & CI) will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. This role combines enterprise IT leadership with commercial acumen to deliver robust technology infrastructure, enterprise platform development, and client-facing integration solutions. The ideal candidate will lead the I.T. Team, champion digital innovation in operations, and actively engage with clients to translate business needs into scalable tech solutions. With a strong emphasis on customer-facing interactions, the VP IT & CI will bridge IT strategy with revenue-generating opportunities, ensuring technology enhances client retention and acquisition across the competitive Canadian logistics market. This position demands a minimum of 15+ years of progressive IT leadership in supply chain/logistics, proven experience scaling enterprise platforms (e.g., TMS, WMS, ERP), along with the commercial savvy to actively participate as a subject matter expert in client pitches, RFPs, and solution demos. Key Responsibilities Strategic IT Leadership & Governance (30%) -Develop and execute a 3-5 year IT roadmap aligned with company growth, including cloud migration, cybersecurity resilience, and supply chain digitization (IoT, AI-driven forecasting) -Oversee IT P&L, budgeting, resource forecasting, and vendor management for both proprietary and third party platforms -Lead Integrated Business Planning (IBP/S&OP) with commercial teams to align IT capabilities with demand sensing and operational scalability. Enterprise Platform Development & Operations (30%) -Direct the design, implementation, and optimization of core platforms for parcel tracking, real-time visibility, and last-mile optimization -Manage small agile teams (developers, architects, DevOps) for custom integrations, API ecosystems, and low-code/no-code tools to accelerate client onboarding -Drive modernization initiatives, including automation (RPA), data analytics (Power BI/Tableau), and ERP enhancements that support scaling shipment volumes -Monitor SLAs/KPIs: 99.9% uptime, <2% integration failure rate, and ROI on tech investments exceeding 20% annually Client Integration & Commercial Engagement (25%) -Act as the customer-facing IT executive, leading solution architecture discussions, demos, and proofs-of-concept for C-suite clients (e.g., retailers, manufacturers) -Collaborate with sales/business development to co-create client-specific integrations, enhancing competitive bids and upselling digital services (e.g., portal customizations) -Champion "commercial comfort": Translate client pain points (e.g., visibility gaps, customs delays) into revenue-generating tech features, participating in 20%+ of key pursuits -Build strategic partnerships with 3PL tech vendors and foster innovation labs for client pilots Team Leadership & Change Management (15%) -Recruit, mentor, and develop a lean IT team, emphasizing cross-functional skill development -Instill a culture of agility, innovation, and accountability, with performance metrics tied to business outcomes Qualifications & Experience Minimum Requirements: -15+ years in IT leadership within the supply chain/3PL/logistics industry, with a minimum 7-10 years at the Director/VP level leading enterprise platforms -Commercial acumen: Experience in client-facing roles (RFPs, demos), with P&L responsibility and revenue impact from IT solutions -Proven leadership track record in fast-paced environments like courier or third party logistics -Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business (MBA preferred); PMP advantageous Preferred Skills: -Deep expertise: Transportation/logistics systems, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity in regulated sectors -Technical: Agile/DevOps, API integrations, AI/ML for predictive analytics; hands-on with supply chain data (inventory optimization, route planning) -Soft skills: Executive presence for C-suite interactions, strategic thinker with execution focus; bilingual (English/French) ideal for Canadian market This mandate is being managed exclusively and confidentially by Reimer Associates.
