National | Fixed-term (~3 years) | Hybrid with travel Our client has a rare opportunity to lead a national, multi-stakeholder workforce initiative spanning trucking, rail, marine/ports, air cargo, and logistics. Recently announced earlier this month, the Vice President, Transportation & Supply Chain Workforce Alliance role is ideal for a senior supply chain or transportation leader who knows how to bring diverse stakeholders together, build alignment across competing priorities, and convert strategy into practical outcomes. In this newly created role, your will collaborate closely with industry employers, labour, training partners, and government to help shape workforce solutions for Canada’s transportation and supply chain ecosystem. The Alliance brings together employers, educators, labour organizations, Indigenous partners and others to identify workforce challenges and develop coordinated solutions. It will support initiatives to strengthen skills development, attract new talent, adapt to new technology and improve collaboration across the sector. The Alliance unites Canada’s trucking, air cargo, marine, and rail sectors, creating an unprecedented forum for collaboration on the workforce challenges affecting the country’s transportation and supply chain system. What you’ll do: • Lead the delivery of national workforce development and a multi-year action plan • Build strong relationships across industry, labour, and government • Oversee mode-based task forces and cross-sector collaboration • Support practical workforce initiatives, pilots, and program delivery • Manage a small team and help define long-term structure and priorities • Ensure accountability through reporting, labour market intelligence, and performance tracking What you bring: • Senior leadership experience in transportation, supply chain, workforce development, or a related sector • Proven ability to work across complex stakeholder groups with diplomacy and influence • Strong execution mindset with experience turning strategy into action • Credibility with C-suite and senior public-sector leaders • A collaborative, politically astute operator with a broad network and a systems-thinking approach This is a hands-on leadership role in a highly visible national initiative with real sector impact.
