Business Development Manager

About the Role We are seeking a Business Development Manager to drive growth, develop strategic client relationships, and expand the company’s presence in the project freight and logistics market. This is a hands-on commercial role that combines market research, prospecting, solution selling, client engagement, and field activity as required. The successful candidate will be an experienced sales professional who understands freight forwarding, can position logistics solutions with confidence, and is motivated by building profitable, long-term business. Key Responsibilities •Research and identify target markets, prospects, and clients for business development •Qualify opportunities, present services, and propose logistics solutions tailored to client needs •Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships •Attend client sites and support field work as needed to help advance sales opportunities •Secure profitable business and contribute to the growth of the client base •Maintain and grow existing accounts while developing new business in line with annual targets •Attend industry and client events to stay current on opportunities and logistics market developments •Support corporate branding, provide client consulting, and maintain accurate prospect/client information in the company database Required Skills and Qualifications •Post-secondary education •3+ years of success selling project freight services •5+ years of experience in the freight forwarding sector with a broad understanding of international air and ocean cargo movement •Strong interpersonal communication skills and experience working with clients and vendors •Ability to work toward corporate vision and contribute to business growth •Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage deadlines under pressure •Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills •Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with attention to detail and accuracy This is an excellent opportunity for a driven commercial logistics professional who wants to grow a specialized client base, work closely with operations, and help shape the future of a respected project freight business.
