
Director of Pricing - LTL/FTL/Intermodal
The Director of Pricing is responsible for overseeing pricing strategy and execution, ensuring competitive and profitable rate proposals across our broad North American LTL, TL, Intermodal, and Highway services. This leader drives pricing excellence, manages the tender process, leads a team of pricing professionals, and collaborates cross-functionally to optimize revenue and meet client needs. They serve as a commercial ambassador partnering closely with Sales, Operations, and Customers to deliver sustainable growth. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES • Lead all aspects of pricing strategy and operations supporting LTL, TL, Intermodal, and highway business lines across Canada, USA, and Mexico • Oversee and mentor a team of 5-6 pricing analysts/managers, developing talent and fostering an innovative, results-oriented culture • Direct pricing initiatives of varying scope and complexity, with ownership of tender management, complex RFPs, and strategic pricing projects • Design, implement, and continuously refine pricing methodologies that balance competitiveness, profitability, and client value • Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and operational costs, leveraging advanced analytics and technology tools (Excel, Tableau, Power BI) • Act as the primary pricing authority for high-value proposals and major tenders, serving as a point of escalation and decision-making • Ensure pricing processes are efficient, accurate, and compliant with company guidelines and financial objectives • Collaborate across Sales, IT, Operations, and Finance to align pricing with business strategies and operational capabilities • Engage with key customers to understand requirements, present proposals, and support commercial negotiations • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance pricing effectiveness, data integrity, and team productivity • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pricing strategies, market conditions, and technological innovations within the logistics and transportation sector • Safeguard the security, confidentiality, and accuracy of sensitive pricing information • Lead or contribute to special company-wide projects related to pricing, margin improvement, and growth • Report on pricing performance, KPIs, and profitability to executive management; recommend strategic actions based on data analysis • Occasionally represent the pricing function at customer meetings, industry events, or executive forums REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS • Strategic Influence: Proactively shapes pricing policies and outcomes at the organizational level • Thought Leadership: Demonstrates curiosity, continuous learning, and innovation in developing pricing solutions • Team Leadership: Coaches, motivates, and develops direct reports; models organizational values • Cross-functional Collaboration: Builds strong partnerships across departments and divisions • Commercial Acumen: Balances client needs with financial and operational realities; supports profitable growth • Tech Savvy: Advances pricing practice through digital tools, automation, and analytics SKILLS • Advanced analytical skills and financial modeling • Expert attention to detail • Market trend analysis and conceptual thinking • Project management, planning, and organization • High achievement orientation and results focus • Exceptional communication and influencing skills • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, CRM, pricing and BI software EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in economics, finance, business, logistics or related field • 10-15 years of progressive experience in pricing, tender management, and commercial analysis in the logistics/transportation industry (with an emphasis on LTL, TL, intermodal, and cross-border operations) • Proven track record of leading and developing teams • Significant experience in customer-facing roles and negotiating commercial agreements Reimer Associates Inc. thanks you for your application and interest in this opportunity.
