
Director, Finance (12 mo. contract)
Our client is a leading 3PL freight brokerage and they are seeking a Director of Finance for an initial 12-month contract with potential to extend. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for safeguarding and optimizing the financial health of a transportation and supply chain organization. This position requires a deep understanding of logistics, freight management, and distribution to drive financial strategy and operational excellence. The Director oversees all aspects of financial planning, analysis, compliance, and risk management, ensuring the company remains resilient and competitive in a dynamic industry. The role also involves leading a finance team, collaborating with cross-functional departments, and providing expert guidance to senior management. Scope of the Job • Develop and implement financial strategies tailored to transportation and supply chain industry challenges and opportunities • Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and cost-control initiatives across logistics, distribution, and fleet operations • Analyze revenue streams, cost structures, and profitability of distribution channels, warehouse operations, and fleet management • Provide financial insights to optimize pricing strategies and contract negotiations with suppliers and carriers • Oversee financial transactions related to transportation costs, fuel expenses, maintenance, warehousing, and third-party logistics services • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, including freight payment systems, tax implications of interstate commerce, and international trade finance • Manage cash flow and working capital to support business continuity and supply chain resilience • Develop financial models to assess the impact of transportation trends, fuel price fluctuations, and global supply chain disruptions Skills and Background Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred) • CPA, CFA, or other relevant financial certifications • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial management within transportation, logistics, or supply chain sectors • Strong knowledge of freight cost accounting, logistics pricing models, and transportation regulatory frameworks • Expertise in financial analysis, forecasting, and strategic financial planning specific to the industry • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills • Proficiency in financial software and accounting systems used in transportation and logistics environments Reimer Associates Inc. thanks you for your application and interest in this opportunity.
