Our client is a mid-sized family owned business, that has been in business for 20 years, in the transportation space, both asset and non-asset based, 3rd party freight brokerage focused on delivering its customers quality service and the knowledge that a customerís trust had to be earned. They are looking for a Controller, who will be the lead administrative person in the business. The business is based in Surrey. This position is responsible for the administration and management of all aspects of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, reporting, forecasting (budget / cash flow) and all related areas of business accounting. It reports to the President / General Manager and will liaise with the Operations, Human Resources and Sales Manager. You should have at least an accounting diploma but they will preferably have an accounting designation of CMA or better. Business-to-business experience is essential. You were ideally part of the Leadership team in previous roles. Transportation specific industry experience will be very beneficial to the candidate and to the clientís executive & administrative teams. You should be a great people manager, comfortable with system implementations and the project management & change management skills that it requires. Ability to learn and integrate industry specific software packages into the ERP system is definitely required. You should have Complete knowledge of full cycle accounting systems and procedures; Proficient in computer software including Word, Excel, Internet, Outlook and any other that become required. You will be a self-motivated, customer service oriented, accomplished problem solver. As well as an experienced negotiator and team leader.
